Experience:
He has over 35 years of experience in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He has worked extensively in Quality Testing, Standard Formulation, Product & System Certification, and Training. He has coordinated the work of International Committees of ISO and the Codex Alimentarius Commission. He played a key role in establishing Food Microbiological Testing Laboratories in BIS.
At the international level, he has represented India in various meetings, including:
- Codex Alimentarius Commission on Pesticides Residues (Fortaleza, Brazil, 2006)
- South Asian Regional Seminar on ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems (New Delhi, 2006)
- ISO Subcommittee on ‘Social Responsibility’ (Sydney, Australia, 2007)
- ISO Subcommittee on “Quality Management and Quality Assurance-Quality Systems” (Helsinki, Finland, 2007)
He also completed an extensive 10-week training program in Food Microbiology at the Laboratory of Government Chemist, Teddington, London, U.K. (1991).
