WPIL Ltd., Ghaziabad recently hosted a two-day training programme focused on two important management system standards ISO 14001 for Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Conducted on behalf of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the programme was designed to help participants understand how these standards guide organisations in managing environmental responsibilities and creating safer workplaces.
Our Leadership as Faculty
The sessions were led by Mr. Ajay Kumar Bhatnagar, CMD of KMA Global and Former Senior Director at BIS, and Mr. Mahim Jain, CEO of KMA Global and Former Deputy Director General of BIS. Drawing on their long experience with national and international standards, they explained the purpose and practical value of adopting a systematic approach to environmental protection and occupational health and safety.
Understanding ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Requirements
During the training, participants were introduced to the essential elements of both standards such as identifying environmental impacts, assessing occupational hazards, understanding legal and regulatory obligations, and establishing measurable objectives. These discussions helped attendees see how ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 support responsible operations and long-term organisational sustainability.
Developing Internal Audit Skills
A significant component of the programme focused on building internal audit capability. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, participants learned how to prepare for an audit, gather evidence, evaluate conformity, and communicate findings effectively. This hands-on learning helped them develop confidence in assessing their own systems and identifying areas that may need corrective actions or improvements.
