On 5th – 6th June 2025, BIS Inspection of one of our applicants for BIS Licence, Matrix Polymers Thai Co., Ltd., was carried out at their facility in Thailand. The inspection was conducted under the provisions of the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with reference to Indian Standard (IS) 7328:2020 – Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion. The purpose of this inspection was to verify whether the Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion intended for shipment to India meets Indian quality and safety standards before certification is granted.
During two days factory visit, the BIS Officer carried out a detailed review of the raw materials and their test certificates, factory layout, manufacturing machinery and processes, details of quality control personnel, testing equipment along with their calibration certificates.
Testing was also conducted through the quality control person to verify the workability of the testing equipment’s as well as the competency of the testing personnel in carrying out the tests as per the methods prescribed in IS 7328:2020 and in accordance with the requirements of the approved Scheme of Testing and Inspection (STI).Samples of the product were also drawn during the inspection for independent testing in India at a BIS-recognized laboratory to verify conformity to IS 7328:2020.
This inspection is an important step for Matrix Polymers Thai Co., Ltd. in the process of obtaining a BIS license. Subject to satisfactory results, BIS will grant the licence, allot a unique (Certification Marks Licence) CM/L number and authorize use of the Standard Mark (ISI Mark), which assures continued conformity through inspections, testing and surveillance for consistent quality and safety in the Indian market.
