As a part of ongoing support to industries who are seeking for BIS certification, KMA Global conducted a Pre-Audit Assessment at DPI Daylighting Pvt. Ltd., Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, to verify the adequacy and associated documentation of newly established laboratory facilities to meet with the requirements of IS 14443:1997 before the main BIS audit for grant of license or to use the ISI Mark on finished products.
Aim of the visit was to ensure all the testing facilities, instruments and documentation were fully compliant with the requirements of the Product Manual and the Scheme of Inspection and Testing (SIT) prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). With the help of valid calibration certificates, traceable measurement systems and well-maintained test records the evaluation focuses on confirming that the laboratory was set up to perform all required tests in accordance with the standard.
The quality of technical documentation such as test report formats, calibration records and raw material Certificates of Analysis (COAs), was also examined as per BIS certification norms.
The laboratory arrangements & documentation were confirmed to match the actual setup and to make sure they are complied with all BIS procedural requirements. This pre visit also highlights the importance to maintain the accurate test results, traceable calibration and updated records to support the product conformity.
From the visit, DPI Daylighting Pvt. Ltd. was able to identify address gaps in their laboratory documentation and process setup, thereby ensures the complete preparedness for their forthcoming BIS main audit for ISI Mark certification.
Through this pre-audit visit, KMA Global reaffirmed its commitment to assisting organizations in achieving BIS certification by strengthening their testing systems, documentation practices and process controls that are align with national standards.
